Nude1 Sat

Nude1 Sat is a charcoal drawing of a model set inside a square metal frame. The frame had the sides wrapped in cling film paper, and the cling film was used to add a little more depth & interest to the piece. Charcoal on paper 84.1 cm x 59.4 cm, drawn by L. Potrykus, 1995.

Charcoal drawings can be very captivating, simply because they have no colour to distract our eyes.  It’s a great medium for blending, erasing or even spreading, but it can be somewhat messy.

Focussing on people, George Seurat is an artist that during the 19^th century perfected drawing in charcoal, he also embarked on landscapes.
