Meet Lynne

Creativity has always been part of my life. From childhood drawings around the family table to discovering new possibilities in found objects and layered paint, art has been the thread running through everything I do. Over time, I realised that my true artistic home is mixed media — the freedom to combine materials, textures, and unexpected elements speaks directly to how I see the world.

I first encountered mixed media through the work of Louise Nevelson, whose monumental assemblages opened my eyes to the beauty hidden in everyday objects. Her approach to structure, depth, and reclaimed materials shaped the way I began exploring my own practice. Today, mixed media isn’t just a technique for me; it’s my main artistic style and the foundation of how I create, experiment, and express myself.

Mechanical Rainbow has been incorporated with delightful textures, parts from mechanical clockwork devices, and displayed as an assemblage that has a lustrous finish that is pleasing to the eyes. Recycling is an extraordinary method for contributing to the preservation of our planet. By actively participating in recycling efforts, we can significantly reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills, thereby minimising environmental pollution and conserving valuable resources for future generations.

A Moment in Time, grew from a desire to explore how memory and emotion collide. In the dim light of my studio, the clock frozen at 9:05 became the heart of the piece, surrounded by layered details that tell their own quiet stories. As light shifts across the canvas, shadows of the past seem to come alive, echoing the fleeting moments we all carry. For me, this artwork is a meditation on the fluidity of time — a reminder to cherish the moments that shape us.
