Deep Cut1
Deep Cut1 Portrays life journeys, these journeys bring along many challenges, portrayed within this art piece is a roller coaster of strains and stresses that lie in front of us every single day. Some manage it well, others don’t.
The Tate Gallery said about Abstract Art that ‘Strictly speaking, the word abstract means to separate or withdraw something from something else’.
That’s what I have tried to achieve within ‘Deep Cut1’, I’ve painted my pain, my anguish and scratched and scored it into the canvas, hoping that I can separate it from my life.
I want my audience to feel this pain and anguish, but then, to capture a sense of relief and calming pushing through from the softer elements that are caressing and healing the deep scars.
On a lighter side here is a great piece of Abstract Art that I like, it is painted by Wassily Kandinsky Cossacks 1910–1. Tate.
It appears that there’s a whole story being told within it, yet it’s not immediately seen. The onlooker has to really connect with the piece to learn what that something else was.
