Nude1 Sat

Nude1 Sat is a charcoal drawing of a model set inside a square metal frame.

The frame had the sides wrapped in cling film paper, and the cling film was used to add a little more depth & interest to the piece. Charcoal on paper 84.1 cm x 59.4 cm, drawn by L. Potrykus, 1995.

Charcoal drawings can be very captivating, simply because they have no colour to distract our eyes.  It’s a great medium for blending, erasing or even spreading, but it can be somewhat messy.

Focussing on people, George Seurat is an artist that during the 19th century perfected drawing in charcoal, he also embarked on landscapes.
